So happy you are visiting the site. I’m sorry it has been so long since I last posted a blog (over 3 months ago). This issue of me neglecting my blog writing is one that I’ve dealt with in the past (see Apologies). The reason (reason, not excuse) I would give as to why I have not been blogging goes back to the passage in Matthew 13 where Jesus talks about the various types of ground. Here it is for those who have never read it or just need to be reminded.
“Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. 8Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. 9He who has ears, let him hear…..
(I strongly encourage you to read the rest of Matthew 13 (link) )
As it concerns to blogging, I’ve, been a lot like the one who received the seed among thorny ground. “The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful” (Matt 13:22). Basically this practice of blogging hasn’t taken root like it should because a lot of cares and concerns have been choking it up: working, dancing, unsupportive people, and also my own laziness (I am actually a combination of the stony and thorny grounds). But I’m determined to become good flourishing ground. “But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown”(Matt 13:23). There is so much that God has given me to write, to sing, to speak, and even to dance, and my blog is the place for me to do that—so I won’t neglect it anymore. So please, please keep coming back. Even feel free to leave angry comments if you see that I haven’t been blogging (but not too angry
). Enjoy my latest post about perspective—the first post in a series about the subject.
Be blessed.
